Ridge is an economist and policy expert with extensive experience on Capitol Hill and in the private sector. His areas of expertise include Social Security, retirement security, Medicare and health care, and the Federal budget.

Prior to his retirement, Ridge was Director of Congressional Relations and Political Affairs at AARP, where he was also a senior strategic policy advisor to the Public Policy Institute. Before joining AARP Ridge served as Senior Economic Policy Advisor to the House Democratic Leadership and Chief Economist of the Budget Committee of the House of Representatives.
