We greatly appreciate the following organizations for their support of Vinson Hall Retirement Community through their generous grants to the Navy Marine Cost Guard Residence Foundation.
William H. Donner Foundation
In 2021, NMCGRF received two grants from the William H. Donner Foundation, totaling $50,000 designated to the Employee Caring Fund. Then in 2022, the William H. Donner Foundation awarded NMCGRF a grant for $20,000 for the same Fund. Since its launch in 2020, the Employee Caring Fund has granted more than $246,000 through 483 financial awards to staff.
McLean Community Foundation
From the McLean Community Foundation, NMCGRF received two grants in 2021 that totaled $4,834. These funds enabled the Foundation to purchase five iPads for The Sylvestery and support the installation costs of a new resident engagement portal for independent living residents in Vinson Hall and Willow Oak. In 2022, the McLean Community Foundation awarded NMCGRF a grant for $6,230 for an interactive digital kiosk to be utilized by residents in Vinson Hall and Willow Oak.
Naval Officers’ Spouses’ Club of Washington, D.C.
From NMCGRF’s long-time supporter, the Naval Officers’ Spouses’ Club of Washington, D.C., the Foundation received a grant for $500 in 2021 that enabled us to provide all residents and staff with custom-made VHRC facemasks. In 2022, the Naval Officers’ Spouses Club awarded the Foundation a grant of $1,000 for a fire pit and outdoor seating at Vinson Hall Retirement Community’s new Sport Park.
Rotary Club of McLean
In 2022, NMCGRF received a grant for $2,000 from the Rotary Club of McLean. These funds allowed the Foundation to purchase four benches for the Sports Park, enabling residents to socialize outdoors while sitting comfortably and watching their friends play pickle ball.
