The Treasure Shop
*** Out of an abundance of caution, Navy Marine Coast Guard Residence Foundation (NMCGRF) has decided to temporarily close The Treasure Shop. During this time of concern about COVID 19, we decided that closing The Treasure Shop is the best course of action. We are sorry for any inconvenience. ***
The Treasure Shop is a boutique consignment store with many gems, small and large. Need a place to consign or donate while downsizing? Then this is the place for you. Click here to review our consignment/donation policies and what items the Treasure Shop accepts.
Proceeds of sales from The Treasure Shop support the residents of Vinson Hall Retirement Community. The sale of your donation at The Treasure Shop goes directly to Navy Marine Coast Guard Residence Foundation, which raises fund throughout the year to provide financial assistance to VHRC residents who, through no fault of their own, have depleted their funds. NMCGRF also supports the all operations and activities of VHRC and is a vital part of VHRC. The Treasure Shop is located just across the street from Vinson Hall Retirement Community's main campus.
The Treasure Shop is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m and the first, third, and fourth Saturdays of the month, noon to 5 p.m. Consignments are accepted Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In February, The Treasure Shop will be closed Saturday, February 8 (2nd Saturday) and Monday, February, 17 (President's Day). The Treasure Shop is located in the Chesterbrook Shopping Center at 6246 Old Dominion Dr., McLean.
The Treasure Shop is currently not accepting the following items: china, coffee cups or mugs, furniture, or paperback books, novels, or textbooks.
Volunteering at the Treasure Shop
Our Treasure Shop is 100% staffed by dedicated volunteers. We are always looking for new volunteers! Volunteers assist with organizing and consigning new inventory as well as processing new donations. Volunteers also ring up sales at the cash register and provide excellent customer service to clients, consignors, and donors. We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of one, 2-hour shift per week. We also ask that you make at least a six-month commitment to the shop. How do I sign up? If you are 16 or older, click here to complete a volunteer application or contact Amiee Freeman, the volunteer coordinator at 703-538-3069. After your application has been reviewed, you will be contacted by the volunteer coordinator to sign up for volunteer orientation. After you have completed the orientation, you will be contacted by the shop manager. If you would like any more information, please call the Treasure Shop at 703-536-7467. We look forward to seeing you!
