Navy Marine Coast Guard Residence Foundation has a variety of volunteer opportunities at Vinson Hall Retirement Community.

Treasure Shop Consignment and Thrift Shop
Volunteers are needed to help with daily operations of our consignment and thrift shop in Chesterbrook Shopping Center. Volunteers assist with organizing and recording inventory of consigned and donated items, run the cash register, and provide excellent customer service to clients, consigners, and donors. The Treasure Shop's regular hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Do you have a dog, cat, or other pet that is a certified therapy animal? We'd love for you and your furry friend to become part of the the NMCGRF volunteer family! We have need for pet visits in all levels of care in our community, but we are especially interested expanding our pet therapy group visits in Arleigh Burke Pavilion and The Sylvestery. Arleigh Burke Pavilion— Assisted Living and Nursing Care
Residents participate in an abundance of engaging activities to enrich their daily lives. Volunteers are needed to assist residents to and from event locations and help with tasks during arts and crafts, sensory events, and various games.
Music and Entertainment Programs
Our residents enjoy music and entertainment of all types. We need volunteers to share their talents and would welcome you to play during a party, or schedule a special event performance. Individuals and groups are welcome.
The Sylvestery— Memory Support
Residents participate in a variety of activities, from bingo to balloon volleyball toss to cooking classes. Volunteers will help the staff run the activities, as well as gently guide the reidents through the rules and procedures. Hours for these activities are 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. daily. We have several scheduling options during those time frames.
Our residents are enthusiastic about music of all kinds and would welcome new performers. There is a piano available for use in the common area.
Residents are often seeking an extra pair of hands and request volunteers to assist with miscellaneous household tasks such as moving boxes or organizing shelves that are out of reach. Volunteers may also be needed to assist with basic computer and electronics needs.
