Navy Marine Coast Guard Residence Foundation continues to ensure those around us live life their way. Through its programs the Foundation has continued to support a vibrant, amenity rich Vinson Hall Retirement Community.
In 2017 there were many great accomplishments. We enriched the lives of 528 Vinson Hall Retirement Community residents ensuring that no resident will ever be asked to leave the community due to inability to pay because of unforeseen financial circumstances.
Since 2013 we remain committed to reserving apartments in Vinson Hall for wounded warriors. Once again this year, 2 more wounded warriors in the Wounded Warrior Transitional Housing at Vinson Hall program progressed to the next step in their lives.
The year was filled with interesting stories and many great events all to help support our mission.
So far this year 4,903 volunteer hours were given back to the community this year through individuals and groups supporting such programs as the life enrichment activities at Arleigh Burke Pavilion and The Sylvestery, the operations of the Treasure Shop, and so much more.
In August the annual community wide yard sale to staff, residents, and McLean community members was had with over 1,000 items sold all proceeds benefiting NMCGRF.
135 guests listened to a performance by pianist, Thomas Pandolfi at the 23rd Annual Gala and Silent Auction.
56 golfers played in the 31st Annual Golf Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Transitional Housing at Vinson Hall. The average temperature that June day was 72 degrees with not a cloud in the sky.
